About the Blogger

Who am I? I'm Michelle Auerbach, a 24 year old girl born and raised in Montreal, Quebec.

What chronic illnesses do I have? At the age of 12 I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. After being stuck in the nightmare of being a mystery for several years, I am now finally being treated for a rare neuromuscular disease called Stiff Person Synrome.

Along the year I've also been diagnosed with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), Neurogenic Bladder, Intestinal Dysmotility, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, and Endometriosis. These things definitely put a struggle in my day to day life, but I'm constantly learning and adapting.

What will I be writing about? I plan to write about my chronic illnesses, as I love to raise awareness, but I also plan on writing posts about coping with the trials and tribulations that come with these illnesses. This will include personal stories and tips and tricks. I will definitely be writing about my cat, Big, who is my true sidekick, as well as beauty products, pop culture, and general ramblings about life! You can also find a section called 'Valued Voices', where I do short but sweet interviews with people within the chronic illness community.

You can find past writings of mine on The Mighty, The Odyssey , Maclean's Magazine, and Diabetes Wellness Magazine.
